Alicia Keys Asked to Cancel July 4 Concert in Tel Aviv

Alicia Keys' Set the World on Fire tour is scheduled to make a stop in Tel Aviv this summer, and now a group that supports a cultural boycott of Israel is calling on the singer to cancel her appearance.  The concert is scheduled to take place July 4, according to the Times of Israel.

The U.S. Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel is asking Alicia to "stand on the side of justice and cancel her gig," claiming that "Alicia Keys is scheduled to play to a segregated audience" because of Israeli restrictions on travel by Palestinians.

The same group protested a concert appearance in Tel Aviv last year by rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  And late last year, Stevie Wonder pulled out of a performance at a gala hosted by the Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces.  The cancellation came after an outcry from pro-Palestinian activist groups that complained about Wonder being involved in an event that, in effect, supports the Israeli military.
